What happened to the fight against loneliness in our country?

“Almost four years later, I found that politicians cannot understand the degree of loneliness in society,” writes Albert Astrup Hansen Hagen in a debate presented by TV 2.

Politicians and society are well aware that outsider behavior is a social problem. Everyone agrees that identifying and recognizing the problem is a step in the right direction. But where do you go from here?

Politicians are taking the challenge, as usual, at the “highest” level seriously. The only problem is that a strategy without implemented measures has little to do with it.

Hagen presents many important points in his post. Among other things, he suggests that “the government is creating places where people of different age groups can come and go when they feel alone or have a desire to be part of a community with others.”

I have little faith that the problem will be solved by “having ‘everyone send an extra thought to those who might test outsiders’, as politicians often call for. In other words, the garden is in place.

I am convinced that instead, people should be able to connect easily with other like-minded people, and that they should be able to connect with them through collaborative activities.

How can I be so sure of this? Because Venn has connected over 10,000 friends in the last 10 months following this particular strategy. But why stop there when we can connect millions of friends?
